Emily Bassett

PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST


Emily is a down-to-earth, empathetic and approachable provisional psychologist. She originally trained as a mental health Registered Nurse, working in both inpatient mental health facilities and in emergency. She has valuable experience in crisis intervention, communication, and providing holistic and person-centred care.

Emily is experienced in working with adults, adolescents and children experiencing difficulties in a range of issues, including depression and low mood, anxiety symptoms and disorders, emotional dysregulation, psychosis, and relationship challenges. She is also experienced in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments for individuals across the lifespan, including for ADHD and Specific Learning Disorders.

Emily draws on evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to support clients struggling with mental health challenges, navigate life transitions, or seeking personal growth.

Emily is in the final stages of completing a Master of Psychology (Clinical) degree.
